Prof. Dr. Herbert Walter Kotzab
Herbert Kotzab (1965) is the professor and chair of Logistics Management at the University of Bremen. He received a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Management, a PhD (1996) and a postdoctoral degree (Habilitation; 2002) from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. Prior to his assignment at Bremen, Herbert held a professor position at the Copenhagen Business School at the Department of Operations Management.
Herbert’s research focuses on supply chain management, service operations and consumer driven value networks. The research is documented in over 300 publications in leading journals such as Journal of Business Logistics, The International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Production & Operations Management (POM), Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Electronic Markets, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Industrial Management and Data systems, chapters in books, conference proceedings and non-refereed journals. Since 2013, he is the editor-in-chief of “Logistics Research”.
Herbert received several awards for his teaching and research (e.g. NOFOMA Best Paper Award)
